It’s March and that means that us Minnesotans can start seeing the light at the end of a long, cold winter. It may still be snowy and cold, so use those inside days to start doing some spring cleaning. At USA Family Moving, we like to get ahead of the game so when the weather is nice, we can enjoy being outside. Here are our Twin Cities full-service movers spring cleaning tips to get your home in good shape as winter ends.

Doormats

Even though they may be outside, you should still make sure your doormats are as clean as possible! This is how you get in and out of your home. Make sure you aren’t tracking in unnecessary dust and dirt. Give them a good shake and vacuum them!

Dust, dust, dust.

Your mom wasn’t kidding, you have to dust your home from time to time. Not only is it better for your health to get rid of the dust, it also can refresh the look and feel of your home. From your blinds and baseboards to your lamps, picture frames, cabinets, shelves and countertops, everything should be given a good dusting. You’ll feel a lot better when it’s all nice and clean.

Fridge and Microwave

It’s not fun, but it must be done. Take a look at your microwave and give it a good scrub- put the glass plate through the dishwasher. Clean out your fridge and give it a good scrub down with baking soda and warm water. Where you put your food should be clean so don’t skimp out on this step. While you’re at it, give your countertops and sink a nice scrub down with soap and water- it’s amazing how much grime can be stored there.

Declutter

While you are scrubbing and dusting, take some time to declutter those rooms as well. See items you no longer need or want? Throw them away or make a pile for the Goodwill or Salvation Army. You will feel great having a clean house without the clutter.
